The Parkinson Alliance Presented its New “Food, Wine, & Maybe Tuscany” Fundraiser on Saturday, November 4, 2017, in Princeton, NJ

KINGSTON, N.J., November 10, 2017 – The Parkinson Alliance presented its new Food, Wine, & Maybe Tuscany Fundraiser on Saturday, November 4, 2017, in Princeton University’s Frick Chemistry Building, in Princeton, NJ. Supporters of the Parkinson’s disease community joined The Parkinson Alliance and 14 local restaurants and wine vendors for an evening of food and wine.  This event benefited The Parkinson Alliance and proceeds support research into Parkinson’s disease.

Guests had a chance to enter a raffle for a trip for four to Tuscany, Italy, worth over $10,000 and listen to guest speaker, Tim Hague Sr., who is a Parkinson’s disease advocate, educator, and motivator.

Congratulations to Nancy Fennelly, the winner of the raffle drawing.

We are thankful for all our volunteers and for our Board Member and Committee Chair, Gail Ruderman, for her support and spearheading this event with her family and friends.  Gail has helped The Parkinson Alliance organize a variety of events to raise funds and awareness for much needed research into Parkinson’s disease.   “Gail Ruderman understands the importance of volunteerism and leads by example,” said Carol Walton, CEO of The Parkinson Alliance.

This event was supported by our sponsors including the Premier Sponsor, Berkshire Bank, and in-kind sponsors, Witherspoon Media Group and Reid Sound.

A diverse collection of local restaurants presented their signature cuisine of choice.  Restaurants include Antimo’s Italian Kitchen, Bell’s Tavern, Bone Fish Grill, LiLLiPiES BAKERY, Leonardo’s II, Metro North, P.F. Chang’s, Piccolo Trattoria, Seasons 52, Small World Coffee, Teresa Caffe, Trattoria Proccacini, The Gingered Peach, 1991 SmokeHouse Bar-B-Que.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with the community support received for this event,” said Carol Walton, CEO of The Parkinson Alliance. “Restaurants and wine vendors, donated generously to make the event successful.”

Parkinson’s disease is a chronic and degenerative neurological disorder that affects at least one million people in the U.S., and approximately 60,000 cases are newly diagnosed each year.

Bucks County Roadrunners Club Thanksgiving Day Race – Calling All Runners and Volunteers!

(October 23, 2017) – Bucks County Roadrunners Club (BCRR) will hold the 28th Annual Customers Bank BCRR Thanksgiving Day Five Mile race and One Mile Fun Run on Thursday morning, November 23, 2017 at 9:00am in Langhorne, PA. We are extremely grateful that The Parkinson Alliance has been selected as one of the charity partners who will benefit from the proceeds of this year’s race.

BCRR is in need of volunteers for race day. Click here for more information. We know from planning the Carnegie Center 5K how many volunteers it takes to make a race go smoothly. Volunteering is a great way of giving back, especially on Thanksgiving – a day we all get to reflect on what we’re thankful for.

The Parkinson Alliance has been the beneficiary of the proceeds from this race for the past three years. In that time, BCRR has raised $39,123 including $30,100 in donations from the Thanksgiving day race!
