Team Parkinson Receives Most Outstanding Growth Award at 2020 LA Marathon
The Parkinson Alliance announced that thanks to their supporters, the 21st Team Parkinson raised over $72,000 in support of Parkinson’s disease research at the Los Angeles Marathon and LA BIG 5K, held on March 7th and 8th, 2020, in Los Angeles, CA. The LA Marathon presented Team Parkinson with the Most Outstanding Growth award. Team Parkinson showed the largest year over year revenue increase of all charities participating in this year’s event.
“Together, it was another successful race to help fight Parkinson’s disease. We increased our fundraising results by more than 40%, which is just fantastic! We thank you all for your support and participation. Everyone who ran or walked for the cause should celebrate their achievements,” stated John and Edna Ball, co-chairs of Team Parkinson.
Parkinson’s disease is a chronic and degenerative neurological disorder that affects at least one million people in the U.S., and approximately 60,000 cases are newly diagnosed each year. “Every supporter is important in the fight against Parkinson’s disease, and we can’t thank everyone enough for being part of Team Parkinson and all your hard work to increase donations for research. We want to acknowledge each runner, donor, sponsor, and volunteer who contributed to the success of this year’s race,” remarked Carol Walton, President & CEO of The Parkinson Alliance.
