The Parkinson Alliance Announces 3rd Food, Wine, & Maybe Tuscany for Parkinson’s Disease Research Will Take Place on Thursday, October 24, 2019, in Lawrenceville, NJ
KINGSTON, N.J., September 10, 2019—The Parkinson Alliance announced today that as one of our Team Parkinson events, the 3rd Food, Wine, & Maybe Tuscany for Parkinson’s Disease Research will take place on Thursday, October 24, 2019, at 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the Cobblestone Creek Country Club, in Lawrenceville, NJ. Event proceeds to support vital research into Parkinson’s disease.
Highlights of our upcoming event include a tasting of cuisine from local NJ restaurants. For the third year in a row, event attendees have a chance to purchase and enter a raffle to win a trip to Italy for a 7-night stay in Tuscany! The winner of the raffle drawing will receive four airfare vouchers and may choose from one out of the 11 available villas.
We are pleased to announce that Bret Parker, Executive Director of the New York City Bar Association, is the guest speaker of this year’s fundraiser. When he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2007 at age 38, Bret kept his diagnosis relatively secret until he shared it via a guest column on the Forbes website in 2012, entitled Parkinson’s Disease: The Last Workplace Secret. Since publicly revealing his diagnosis, Bret has advocated for people living with Parkinson’s disease; he is a Co-Chair of the Michael J. Fox Foundation Patient Council and moderates a Facebook group for people living with young-onset Parkinson’s disease. Bret is also an advocate for Parkinson’s disease research. Together with his family and friends, they have raised over $600,000 through activities such as runs, triathlons, and skydiving.
In early 2018, Bret completed the World Marathon Challenge, completing seven marathons on seven continents in seven days. As our guest speaker, Bret will take you through this incredible journey and why it was important to him.

Event tickets are $100.00 per person. Attendees must be at least 21 years old to attend this event. Raffle tickets are available at the event for $50 each. The fair market value of the trip will be taxable income to the winner. A limited number of tables for ten or eight guests are available.
