Neurosurgeon Provides “Asleep” Option for Patients Undergoing DBS Surgery

(September 11, 2013) – Today patients have the option of undergoing deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery while they are under general anesthesia. “Asleep” DBS uses real-time MRI imaging to ensure that the electrode is placed in the correct location.
