Dan Gross

Dan Gross has started companies in the financial services and insurance area.  These companies range from a small life reinsurer to an insurance and financial services company listed on the New York Stock Exchange

Dan is a general partner in Countervailing, LLC. a fund of private equity funds.

Dan was previously a co-founder and President and CEO of Enhance Financial Services Group, a NYSE-listed financial services company.  Enhance was sold to Radian Group in February 2001.
Prior to founding Enhance, Dan was a co-founder of F. G. Holding Company, a holding company for a life reinsurer and a life insurance brokerage company.

Before becoming involved in entrepreneurial activities, Dan was a senior executive at Colonial Penn Group.  While at Colonial Penn, he served as Vice-president and Actuary of the life and health insurance company, Vice-president of Marketing for the parent company and President of the automobile and homeowner’s insurance company.

Dan started his career as a life actuary at Equitable Life Assurance.

Dan is a graduate of M.I.T., a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the Academy of Actuaries. He is a Trustee of the Lark Play Development Center and the Atlantic Theater Company.

He is ranked as a Chess Master by the U.S. Chess Federation.
