A Gift in Your Will or Living Trust

Ensure that Parkinson’s research can continue for years to come with a charitable bequest from your estate. Your gift also entitles your estate to an unlimited federal estate tax charitable deduction. You may leave a set amount, or a percentage of your estate, or a conditional gift if others pre-decease you. See our sample language below that you can discuss with your attorney for inclusion in your estate documents.

IRA or Retirement Plan Annual Gift

If you are 70 ½ or older, you can take advantage of a simple way to benefit The Parkinson Alliance and get tax benefits in return. You can give up to $100,000 from your IRA directly to a qualified charity without having to pay income taxes on the money.

You pay no income taxes on the gift, nor does it generate a tax deduction. If you have not yet taken your required minimum distribution for the year, your IRA charitable gift can satisfy all or part of that requirement. Simply notify your plan administrator.

IRA , Life Insurance or Other Account Beneficiary

Support our work after your lifetime by designating The Parkinson Alliance as a beneficiary for your IRA or life insurance plan. You simply fill out a form from the administrator—separate from your will—which makes this an easy way to give.

Designate a set amount or a percentage of the assets. You can name us beneficiary for retirement plan assets, life insurance, commercial annuities, bank or brokerage accounts, or CDs.
