"Parkin' Out with the Nuns"
September 30, 2001

A group of Mohawk Valley women who call themselves "Side Street Sisters" take the stage in full habit along with Father Scot, entertaining audiences with their singing, dancing, acting and general craziness. They perform free of charge for charitable causes and are very giving of their time and energy.

On September 30th the Side Street Sisters took to the stage once again in "Parkin' Out with the Nuns," a benefit concert for the Central New York Parkinson's Support Group. The concert was held at the SUNY College of Technology of Utica/Rome on the Marcy campus. Enthusiasm runs high in this group, and they certainly have the talent to match it. Their show runs the gamut from beautiful ballads to funny takeoffs on well-known songs that have been tailored to fit the nuns.

Proceeds were divided between money for research in the form of a donation to The Parkinson Alliance and the building fund for the new Parkinson's wing at the Presbyterian Home in New Hartford.
