The First Annual Robert Fiori Memorial Golf Tournament
August 4, 2001

The First Annual Robert Fiori Memorial Golf Tournament was held on August 4th, 2001 at the Westvale Country Club in Syracuse, NY. The Tournament, which was pulled together in a matter of two months, greatly benefited The Parkinson Alliance raising more than $3,500.00 to be used for research. The Tournament Co-chairpersons, Cara and John Fiori, were very pleased with the turnout, which totaled 67 golfers along with some supporters that volunteered that day.

Cara and John decided to rally their friends and family together for a cause that is very close to home. The Tournament is a memorial to their father, Robert Fiori, a man who had his life cut short due to this debilitating disease. Cara and John are very excited about the success of the Tournament, and are hoping that the publicity generated will help to give Parkinson's disease the attention it deserves. This event has planted a small seed, which will hopefully grow, year after year in the City of Syracuse.
