8th Annual Public Policy Forum
"Fighting For A Cure"
Sunday, May 19, 2002 - Tuesday, May 21, 2002
The Public Policy Forum was a unique educational conference that bought together Parkinsons advocates from across the country in our Nations Capitol. The Forum encouraged advocates to learn more about issues surrounding Parkinsons disease and provided them with the opportunity to meet with their legislators.
The Forum offered informative sessions featuring:
- Grassroots advocacy training
- Scientific breakthroughs by the nations leading Parkinsons specialists
- Legislative issues and priorities for 2002
- Federal Funding for Parkinsons research
and
A visit with legislators on Capitol Hill
In addition to the Forum, PAN hosted:
The 9th Annual Morris K. Udall Awards Dinner on Tuesday, May 21, 2002 honoring:
Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA), Chairman of the Senate Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Appropriations Subcommittee; and
Congressman Joe Lewis (R-CA), Chairman of the House Defense Appropriations Committee
Michael J. Fox served as Honorary Chairman, and Sam Donaldson served as Master of Ceremonies for the Morris K. Udall Awards Dinner.
