Carnegie Center 5K & Fun Run
This year’s event was once again supported by a number of corporate sponsors including Interpool, Inc., Boston Properties, GE Healthcare, Kyowa Pharmaceuticals, The Residence Inn at Carnegie Center, Tyco, Washington Group International, Yardville National Bank, NRG Energy, Inc., The Ruderman Family, Akros Pharma, Lawrence Shopping Center, NAI Fennelly and Hyatt Regency Princeton.
The weather conditions were absolutely perfect for the record number of runners and walkers. The 1 mile fun run began at 9:00am taking the 72 runners and walkers through the scenic grounds within Carnegie Center. At 9:30am, over 300 runners set themselves at the starting line for the start of the 5K road race. Stefan Kolata was the ﬁrst male ﬁnisher of the 3.1 mile course in an impressive 16:01 and Jen Liney was the ﬁrst female ﬁnisher in 19:46.
During our post race party participants of the 5K and Fun Run enjoyed delicious food generously donated by Newport Foods/Compass Group and had an opportunity to win 1 of more than 30 door prizes that were donated by local businesses and sports teams.
In addition, New York Sports Club and Cold Stone Creamery Mercer Mall offered race participants goods and services. Complimentary massages were provided by Rich Carlson, James Richardson and Debra Keller.
Mr. Jay Destribats, Chairman of Yardville National Bank, was presented the King Award, named after Joseph G. Fennelly and presented by Gwen Fennelly, in recognition of YNB’s dedication and humanitarian efforts to the community and their continued support of The Parkinson Alliance.
Over 100 trophies were awarded to the top 3 overall male & female ﬁnishers, top 3 male and female ﬁnishers in 14 different age groups, and the top 3 teams in the open and corporate divisions.
