The 2nd Annual ParkinSong
The Parkinson Alliance of Princeton, New Jersey proudly presented the 2nd annual ParkinSong on Saturday, April 13th at Council Rock High School in Newtown, Pennsylvania. Originated in honor of Selma Litowitz of Lawrenceville, New Jersey, the annual ParkinSong concert to benefit Parkinson’s disease research is dedicated to her and all others facing the challenges of Parkinson’s disease.
This year’s event was hosted by Pierre Robert, an icon of the Philadelphia radio scene for almost 20 years and midday air personality on 93.3 WMMR. Pierre's warm disposition, eloquent words, and genuine care for his audience graced ParkinSong and made it a night to remember.
Returning to ParkinSong was Philadelphia based group Grey Eye Glances (www.greyeyeglances.com) and singer/songwriter Ana Egge from New Mexico. (www.anaegge.com) New to this year's concert was Boston area folk singer Catie Curtis (www.catiecurtis.com).
ParkinSong General Admission tickets ranged from $20.00-$40.00. Our Patron ticket for $100.00 included reserved seating, an invite to the Meet and Greet the Artisits after party, and a listing in the program.
Funds from this year’s concert will help support the R21 Fast Track Grant Program. The Parkinson Alliance is proud to be a part this unprecedented collaboration with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and private Parkinson’s organizations to jointly fund the program of $11 million in Parkinson’s disease research grants. The R21 Fast Track Grant Program awarded 34 two-year grants making it one of the largest initiatives in the history of Parkinson’s disease research.
