The Central Coast Follies return to the Clark Center for their 10th Annual Benefit for Parkinson Research

(October 16, 2012, Kingston, NJ)  The Central Coast Follies spent October 6th to the 14th performing six shows at the Follies’ annual benefit for Parkinson’s research.  Held at the 600-seater Clark Center for the Performing Arts in Arroyo Grande, California, this year’s performance drew a record crowd!  It was also a celebration; marking the 10th year the Central Coast Follies have put on a musical extravaganza to support the dedication of The Parkinson Alliance, to raise funds to help finance the most promising research to find the cause and cure for Parkinson's disease. 

The milestone of the Central Coast Follies was reflected on the theme of the show, which was “That’s Entertainment— A Decade of Follies.”  The Facebook Page of the Follies urged the general public, “Don't miss it!!!!!  It's the best show ever!!”  It was also the largest show ever, complete with a cast of more than 100 performers, from ages 5 to 85; the Follies presented two packed acts, filled with music, singing, and dance. 

The Central Coast Follies is an ensemble of outstanding women who, with much love and devotion, share a collective dream to provide great entertainment, through dance, to raise money for Parkinson’s research.  CEO of The Parkinson Alliance, Carol Walton, spoke at an intermission and remarked and thanked the Central Coast Follies for their vision, leadership, and execution; the combination of which always results into a large total of donations.  In addition to their fundraising efforts, everyone (cast, crew, and the audience) has a great time.  “It is a win-win situation for everyone involved, including the Parkinson’s community,” noted Carol Walton. 

Over the past nine years, the Central Coast Follies have donated more than $217,000 to The Parkinson Alliance for Parkinson’s research, and this year will definitely heighten their team’s fundraising total.   

The Parkinson Alliance thanks the entire cast and crew of the Central Coast Follies, in addition to their sponsors, donors, advertisers, and audience for their continuous support through the years.  The efforts of the Follies and everyone involved have helped to make a difference by giving hope to the Parkinson’s community, to those affected by and living with the disease.
